Artist's Comments

Harry, Ron, and Hermione is © J.K. Rowling

I am mostly disappointed at myself for taking so long to create this. At most, I probably could have finished making this like 3 odd days ago. Grrr me! :angered:

But I kinda liked the way it turned out. I thought I would've made horrible dialogue for the HP kids! Since the dialogue was the last thing to get "drawn" in, I kept thinking of the variations of speech I could write for them. Lucky for me, I didn't have writer's block when I reached the dialogue.

Also, I have to give tribute to because I totally love the way she does her comics. =D:horns: If you've ever seen her stuff, you can probably tell that I'm mimicking her style in which she makes comics. Art however, is totally © me.

Nice site you got...how hard is it to get a Keenspace accoutn, huh? Mine never worked out. Couldn't login.

Retake: What happens when an actor goes from playing a superhero onscreen to becoming one in real-life? Only trouble...Issue Two ending SOON!

I guess it's funny... ha-ha-ha (I read somewhere how to laugh). The speech balloons are out of order in the second panel. That's not a hard thing to avoid. Height does help with discerning the order, but really, the one on the left isn't low enough to make that obvious. My suggestion, reverse the placement of the balloons and criss cross their source trails. (Damn.. source trails... that's such a cool name for that little arrowy part of the speech balloons.. heh! And I just thought it up! Speaking of which... source trails (c) Spanio)

Yeah I had problems trying to get Keenspace to work when I first tried it out. However, the problem that gets to most people is the waiting part. Don't cancel or give up on your Keenspace account too quickly 'cause they take some time to make it official or whatever. Just wait for the e-mail (mine took almost a month to be sent to me) and they should give you the password that allows you to update your site (the password is randomly generated to you).

There's a lot of help for Keenspace so if you look around the forums, some FAQs or people should point you the right way. =)

Thanks for the critique, buddy.

Yeah I know what you mean about the balloons. It was either place the other one rediculously high or rearrange them altogether. I would do it the way you suggested me, but I'm using the Blambot! preset balloon package since I don't know how to make my own on Photoshop. Or I could've drawn them in, but I wanted room to play around with the balloons.
:iconspanio:
NOOO!!! Blambot's for comic fonts you fool! Not preset word balloons!! Okay, you're using photoshop... here's what you do. You'll need 2 layers for text and balloons. One's for the text, the other (underneath) is for balloons. First, type your text where you want it. Try to make it a round shape... (it helps). STEP2! Using the elliptical marquee tool, select a round area encompassing the text. Then, whilst holding down the shift key, use the polygonal lasso tool to select the area resembling the source trails (still a cool term). Now, you should have a word balloon shaped region on your balloon layer. Fill the selection area with white using the fill tool.. or the paintbrush.. or whatever the hell you'd like. Now, the fun part. Making sure that the balloon is the only thing on the layer, right click on the layer in the Layers Window. Select Blending Options... and then choose the the stroke setting. From here, it should be obvious what it is you've done. Tutorial END!

Will totally try it out. Unfortunately I've already made the second comic by now and couldn't read your tutorial while deviantART was down for 2-3 days.
